Delay

Some of you may have noticed that the estimated shipping date was changed from November to December. Unfortunately, there is a problem with the design of the mold. Basically the mold uses too much plastic resulting in excessive shrinkage in the finished GrowlTap. This, in turn, causes irregular depressions in the exterior surface. We had hoped to find a fast fix, but our only option is to re-tool the mold. The re-tooling is taking place in the US, so there will not be long shipping delays. The manufacturer has promised that the production units will be ready to ship December 16th. To expedite delivery to you, the units will not be shipped to me in Colorado, but the manufacturer will handle fulfillment and ship directly to you.

The upside to this quagmire is that the re-design of the GrowlTap, using less plastic, greatly improves the look of the finished product. Below is a renderings of the new design after re-tooling takes place. Please note that the renderings are not accurate as far as the color goes. The TapIt Cap will not be white and shiny, but black and matte.

    Rob,

I’ve already pre-ordered my GrowlTap and can’t wait for it to arrive. I have a question for you…

If I finish a growler and transfer my GrowlTap to a new growler, will that empty the CO2 cartridge and require me to use a new Cartridge? In other words, will I need a new CO2 cartridge for every growler I use the GrowlTap on?

    Thanks,

    Nick

      Hi Nick,

The GrowlTap uses a CO2 dispenser that allows you to control the amount of CO2 used. When you don’t depress the button it doesn’t push CO2. I get between 8-10 growlers per CO2 canister. Admittedly it was closer to 3-4 when I first started before I got better.

      Stay Hoppy,
      Robert

Does the GrowlTap fit most all 64 ounce growlers with screw tops. I have a gallon growler that utilizes the exact same cap as my 64 ounce one so if it fits my 64 ouncer it should fit my gallon too.

I have not come across a screw top glass growler that the GrowlTap does not fit on.The thread and opening seem to be an industry standard.
